Love is an intrinsic quality that is born within us, however, we are all educated and socialized into individuals who are obsessed with fear . The fear of identity, do I fit? Do I belong? This fear has now become so prevalent that people are even prepared to undergo surgery, remove parts of the bodies, and implant foreign dead artificial materials within their living tissues simply to overcome the fear of not "fitting in" or getting old.
Fear is the absence of love, like darkness the absence of light . To fight with fear is to fight with darkness. Fighting with that which is non-existential will inevitably result in defeat, exhaustion and a sense of loss.
Fear enables individuals to be controlled; the government uses fear to control the behavior of its population through the threats of fines, imprisonment and restriction of "freedoms". The same is true of us, our own fears work to control our behavior, our understanding and most importantly, our ability to love and be loved.
Love is our intrinsic quality and all that is needed is to give it a pathway. Unlike the external physical world, where when we give something to another, we "lose" that which we have given. However, in our inner world, these laws of economic dont work. Firstly, we can only give that which we have. So if we have anger, we act, behave, speak and carry ourselves with anger, our interactions with others "infects" them with our own psychic content. Angry people distress others. The more we give the more it increases within us. The same is true for love, by opening our self to be loving, the more we give, the more we have, the less we give, the less we have.
To know love, we first have to start with our self. Through acceptance and self-compassion, we are able to dissolve our fears, bringing in the light to dispel the darkness of fear.
